How long does it take to memorize the Quran?
The hafiz mushaf has 604 pages. At a steady pace the arithmetic is simple; what makes the difference is keeping the pace and the revision going.

Counting new-lesson days only. Revision-only days, exams and holidays add to it, and the last juz usually go faster as the student gets used to memorizing.
What the numbers mean
- Juz Amma (23 pages) takes about four weeks at a page a day.
- Full-time students who learn a page or more a day often finish in one to three years; part-time students usually take longer.
- A smaller amount kept every day beats a larger amount kept now and then: revision only works if it comes round.
Keep the revision in step
The more that is memorized, the more there is to revise. Many teachers keep the recent pages with every new lesson and add a fixed portion of older revision each day, so that the whole memorized part comes round every week or two.
